All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy
This is a very popular saying that we’ve heard and even recited for so long, never mind that no one knows whether Jack ended up been dull or smart. Nigerian students are always faced with long sessions of tedious academic studies with little or no social activities, bar departmental, hall, faculty and union weeks. Anyway, students have always found a way of going around recreating and taking part in leisure activities via departmental and faculty excursions. An exceptional way of getting out of the four walls of the Institution in order to experience amazing resort centers, create beautiful memories and fortify lasting friendships. Here is a list of five excursion destinations for students in South Western Nigeria;
Erin Ijesha Waterfall
Erin Ijesha Waterfall is one tourist center that can guarantee anyone a combination of a nice adventure, a fascinating experience and a time to relax. Also known as Olumirin waterfall and located in Erin Ijesha, Osun State, Erin Ijesha Waterfall is a stunning piece of nature that offers students a view of a beautiful scenery. Not leaving out a lovely ambiance and a soothing relief that you definitely can’t get at the lecture theater.
Located In Abeokuta, Ogun State, South Western Nigeria, Olumo Rock is one of the favourite fun places for students. It presents a spectacular and beautiful view from its top. Important features about Olumo Rock are informative tour guides, restaurants, a museum, water fountain, a tie and dye market and friendly locals that will make the trip an exciting one.
Ikogosi Warm Spring
Another lovely and priceless piece of Nature located in Ikogosi, Ekiti State, is the Ikogosi Warm Spring. This is one of the most student friendly tourist sites. It creates an avenue for lovebirds to feel the emotions attached with warm and cold springs meeting at the same point and retaining its thermal property, a perfect tale of love.
A lot of students sleep in classes and I think that’s incredibly normal. After all, there are boring lectures. But I can assure you that the right kind of sleep a student deserves will be gotten after climbing the daunting 667 great steps of the hills of Idanre in Ondo State. A wonderful adventurous voyage worth taking with friends and course mates.
Ebomi Lake Tourist Center
Located in Ipesi Akoko, Ondo State, Ebomi Lake (also referred to as the bottomless lake) is a fun and relaxation spot where students can broaden their horizon by learning about the culture of the Ipesi people and their attachment to ancient traditional practices (I can assure you that it’s not a lecture). It’s an ideal place for relaxation and for exploring natural splendor. The word Ebomi is an imitated version of “Abami” which literally means mysterious (Mysterious! Just go there to quench your curiosity).
