Lekki Urban Forest Animal Sanctuary Initiative (Lufasi), is an urban forest park located on Lekki-Epe Road. It’s just after Fara Park Estate. It’s a recreational facility with so many trees, shrubs and a little number of animals, both wild and domestic. It has a cool ambiance with a nice scenery. There aren’t so many places in Lagos that boast of a healthy number of animals, varying vegetation, a serene environment and a recreational park, all in a large expanse of land. However, there are just a few things one can do at Lufasi, here are five of them;
Have a picnic
Lufasi park sits on 20 hectares of land. A large portion of the entire space is made of different gardens and varying grasslands that are well preserved. This makes it a suitable place to have a picnic with friends, colleagues, classmates and families. With the cool ambiance and natural feel you get from Lufasi, having a picnic there is just a perfect thing to do.
Have a Photo shoot
There are definitely lots of places where one can have photo shoots, depending on whatever the photographer or his client want. But none beats a photo shoot taken in a beautiful park with lots of evergreen trees and a serene atmosphere. That pre-wedding photo shoot you’ve always dreamt about might become a reality at Lufasi.
Visit the mini-zoo
At Lufasi, there’s a mini-zoo where you can see two different species of monkeys. There names are; Old school and Rocky (Rocky is very friendly but don’t try Old school). The mini-zoo also has a 50 year old tortoise, a raccoon, a warthog, three alligator reptiles. Lufasi also has a fern garden and a duck pond where you most likely find two donkeys and several ducks moving around.
Football is one sport that brings people together and guarantees much fun. The Park offers one a chance of playing the beautiful game of football with its 5-aside football pitch. ,
Lufasi Park offers horse riding services. If you’re a fan of horse riding, there are three different horses that you can use. Please don’t get yourself injured in the process.
Entrance fees for Children and Adults are N500 and N1,000 respectively.
