It’s the beginning of the second quarter of the year; the fourth month of the year. April has already begun and it is definitely full of events and fascinating occasions. It promises to be a month with so much fun, excitement and intriguing drama. Here are the events to watch out for in April in no particular order or preference:
The Weekend Football League
The Weekend Football League is one of the biggest sporting events that will be happening in Ibadan this year, taking place on the 16th of April at Lead City High School artificial turf. It’s going to be a football league comprising of different eight-aside teams squaring up against each other. Apart from football, there will also be a FIFA 2016 game challenge, lots of food, music, hangout spots and free WiFi. Tickets cost N500 and will be sold at the venue.
The last episode of Afropolitan Vibes featured three great artists from the Nigerian Music Industry; Blacky, Dammy Krane and Nneka, and it was full of fun and grand excitement, the crowd was massive and the artists didn’t disappoint in their arts, skills and performances. The event which happens every third Friday of the month, will hold this month on the 15th of April at Freedom Park, Lagos.
I Laff with MC Abbey
On the 10th of April, 2016, Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos, will be on its feet as one of Nigeria’s top stand up comedians popularly known as MC Abbey will be hosting a comedy show with musical performances as an important feature of the event. Emerging Acts Music Festival
Ilorin, the Capital City of Kwara State, North Central Nigeria is going to be playing host to lots of new, emerging and upcoming music artists in Kwara State. The program which is going to take place at NIMATONI Events Center on the 23rd and 24th of April, is aimed at giving young and upcoming music artists a platform to showcase their talents and also develop it in the best possible way. Industry Nite Special
Fuji Music is one genre of music that surely has a large followership in Nigeria, making it one of the oldest and most enjoyable genres of music that Nigerians love to listen and dance to. One of its pioneers, the King himself, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), is going to be performing live at the Industry Nite Special at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, on the 27th of April, 2016. In recognition of UNESCO’s international Jazz Day, lovers of Jazz will be presented with a rare and special chance of experiencing one of the biggest Jazz events in the country, Runway Jazz. The event which is going to be happening on the 29th of April at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, is going to be a combination of jazz performances from renowned jazz artists, runway fashion, culture and exquisite dining.
