Wikki Warm Springs and Park
Located within Yankari reserve, the natural springs is a major reason why tourists visit the reserve. The springs’ park at night is scenic beauty and is ideal for a romantic evening. You get to dip yourself in the spectacular body of water and immediately forget all your worries. Bauchi is summed up in the splendor of bathing in the springs – Extraordinary.
Marshall Caves & Fish Pond
When P.J. Marshall discovered these caves in 1980, I can’t fathom what went through his mind. These 59 dwelling caves are historic and were likely escape routes for early settlers. You will see some rock paintings and also engravings that are made from straight and zigzag lines. Then you will need experts to read meaning to the carvings.
If the Marshall Caves does not impress you then Tunga Dutse would surely impress you. The writings on this rock is more legible and covers a huge area on sandstone rock embankment in the Dwall River. Understanding what these writings mean and the age of these writings is still a mystery.
The Dukkey Wells show indigenous technology. With over 139 wells that are well connected via shafts to portray an elaborate water storage system used in ancient times. It is a site to explore and see the ingenuity of ancient folks in preserving water for both domestic and agricultural use in the region.
Tafawa Balewa Tomb
The tomb of the late Prime Minister of Nigeria, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, is located along the Ran Road in Bauchi. With a large tower-like structure in front of it, it is indeed a sight to behold. It is also a museum which houses the personal effects of the late Balewa, including his wrist watch, radio and cap, displayed in glass cases.
The Unity Park along Ahmadu Bello way in Bauchi, the state capital, is one of the most visited leisure places in the city. It has a multipurpose indoor sports hall, open theatre and a shopping complex. It is often crowded on weekends and holidays.
Sumu Wildlife may not be exceptional like the Yankari Game Reserve but it is one thrilling place to visit in Bauchi State. This park is located in Ganjuwa. You would have a great time in this place with its design and the wildlife activities that are also involved here.
Shehu Azare Park
The Shehu Azare Park is located along the Adamu Jumba road in Bauchi Town. It has a scenic beauty, with its lovely well kept lawn, colourful flowers and cement benches for picnics. It is a great place to take a book to, settle under a tree and enjoy a quiet, peaceful afternoon.
