The Falls cascade magnificently off the daunting peaks of the Jos Plateau.
Farin ruwa means “white water” in Hausa, never mind that we were told water is colourless. The waterfall is simply beautiful and breathtaking. One will most likely think the falls are made of gushing white smoke due to the speed of the falls. Farin ruwa falls is surrounded by a large forest which attracts different species of birds. These birds migrate in their thousands to where the falls are located. Creating a distinct and well organized ecosystem. The waterfall is an important bird habitat due to the number of conservative bird species.
Cascading at three different channels, Farin ruwa falls offer a lovely scenery, steep rocks and a cool ambiance. The vegetation around it also gives it an extra and unique appeal. These features makes it attractive for tourists, holiday makers and adventurers. It’s one of the few Nigerian sites to be acknowledged as a world tourist site by the World Tourism Organization (WTO).
